Teluk Intan

Teluk Intan

Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan
Just as the name of this attraction, the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan is very similar to the world renowned Leaning Tower of Pisa located in Italy. This 25.5 meter tall tower was first built by a Chinese contractor in the year 1885. However, the tower began to tilt in the direction of Jalan Bandar 4 years after its construction. This pagoda look alike tower was first used as a water tank to store water for Teluk Intan’s resident at that time. However, during the Japanese Occupation, the tower was used as an observation tower by the Japanese army. Later after that, the tower was used as the headquarters for the Boys Scouts. Nowadays, this leaning tower just acts as a tourist attraction and of course, a clock tower that tells time.
