About Malaysia

In the heart of South East Asia, Malaysia consists of two separate land masses with a total of 329,758 square kilometers comprising the Peninsular Malaysia (West Malaysia) and the north Borneo states of Sabah and Sarawak (East Malaysia).

West Malaysia spreads over an area of 131,598 square kilometers and is bordered with Thailand in the North and Singapore in the South. East Malaysia stretches along the northern region of Borneo neighboring Brunei and Kalimantan (Indonesia). The two lands are separated by the South China Sea.

Malaysia is a country that you will be able to discover a wide spectrum of colours and excitement in the myriad cultures and traditions - Malays, Chinese, Indians and the indigenous Kadazans, Ibans and other ethnic groups of Sabah and Sarawak, as well as the influence of the British, Portuguese, Dutch and Thais.

Malaysia has an exuberant celebration of festivals, customs, traditions and a tempting array of multicultural cuisines. Opportunities for adventure are as numerous as they are diverse. From jungle trekking, mountain climbing, and cave exploration to scuba diving, skydiving, off road excitement and more. Its ancient rainforests, plentiful rainfall, and tropical greenhouse heat have endowed Malaysia with a cornucopia of bizarre life forms.
