Terengganu Map

Terengganu is a state in Malaysia which is located at the north-eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Apart from having the East China Sea surrounding its coastline, the Kelantan state on the north east side and the Pahang state on the south side are also the neighbouring states of Terengganu. The capital state of the Terengganu state is known as Kuala Terengganu and in addition to that, Kuala Terengganu is also the royal town of the Terengganu state. Besides that, there are another 6 main administrative districts here in Terengganu, these districts include Besut, Dungun, Hulu Terengganu, Kemaman, Marang and Setiu. With a land area of roughly 12950 square kilometer, Terengganu has a population count of 900000 people and more where almost 90% of the total population is consists of the Malays.

All this while in Malaysia, Terengganu is often known as a conservative state under a heavy influence from the traditional culture and as well as the Islamic religion. Many have a perception that Terengganu is a socially conservative state partly due to the fact where Terengganu was once ruled by PAS (Islamic Party of Malaysia). However, despite this reason, there are still a lot of foreign multinational companies (mostly being petrochemical related) investing in Terengganu due to the reason where Terengganu is a state with an almost abundant supply of petroleum to be extracted and processed. Besides the petrochemical industries, tourism and fishing are also the major industries here in Terengganu. The climate here in Terengganu, the Tropical Climate is just as similar to any other states here in Peninsular Malaysia
