For being one of the popular tourist states within Malaysia, there are quite a lot of hotels or resorts located at all around the state. Some of these hotels include popular names like the Berjaya Palace Hotel, Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, Pacific Sutrera Resort, Nexus Resort, Tanjung Aru Resort and as well as Promenade Hotel. The rate of all these hotels or resorts is fair where the cheapest would cost about RM120 per stay whereas those that are more expensive would cost roughly RM380 per stay.
Firstly for the Berjaya Palace Hotel, it is one of the cheapest hotels within the hotels or resorts mentioned above. The rate for staying in the Berjaya Palace Hotel is only around RM120 per night. Being one of the famous names in the tourism industries, despite the cheaper rate, the services and the facilities offered by the Berjaya Palace Hotel is still fairly standardized. Besides the Berjaya Palace Hotel, the Promenade Hotel is the second cheapest hotel after the Berjaya Palace Hotel. In the Promenade Hotel, a night stay may cost roughly around RM196. All of the rooms in the Promenade Hotel are equipped with basic facilities like a mini bar, en suite bathroom, in-house movies and as well as safety deposit box. Aside from these basic facilities, the hotel also offers a leisure centre (includes indoor rock climbing machine, bicycles, weights and others), sauna room, steam room, Jacuzzi baths, swimming pool and as well as a business centre. In addition to that, the hotel also offers services such as currency exchange, limousine service, car rental, local shops and a beauty saloon as well. As some of us may already know, Shangri-La is quite a well known name around as this name is very much related to resorts and as well as hotel. In exchange for the beautiful view of the glorious Dalit Beach, the rate of this resort is rather worthwhile where it cost roughly RM275 per night. In the Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort, there are a wide range of facilities such as aqua sports, golf, horse riding and as well as beachside barbeque. Aside from that, the Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort also offers a wide variety of services such as airport transfer, child care, business centre, clinic, currency exchange, shopping arcade, beauty salon and as well as laundry service. For dining purposes in the Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort, there are quite a lot of choices available for the guests to choose from. Some of these choices include the Coffee Terrace which serves Asian and Continental Cuisines, Tepi Laut which is a Malaysia street life styled dining location serving authentic hawker cuisines, the Indian Restaurant Naan which serves Northern and Coastal Indian Cuisines and in addition to that, Naan is also very famous for having a selection of over 20 different types of Naan breads (a form of Indian bread). Aside from these dining outlets, there are also quite a few places to enjoy a drink here in the Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort. Some of these places include the enchanting Coast where from this bar, the guests can enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the South China Sea, besides Coast, there is also the famous Sampan Bar where in the Sampan bar, the guests can enjoy the setting sun whilst sipping off a cup of cold or hot drinks.
Besides the Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort, there is another beachside resort known as the Pacific Sutrera Resort. When compared to the Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort, the Pacific Setrera Resort is more expensive where a night stay at the hotel can cost up to RM300. Besides offering a wide range of basic facilities and services, the Pacific Sutrera Resort also offers a business centre, Jacuzzi, swimming pool, golf, boutiques, shops and the Pacific Club. There is one main difference between the rooms offered here in the Pacific Sutrera Resort, the difference is that the view for one of the room is sea view whereas the latter one is a golf course view.
For travelers who wish to enjoy the grand and panoramic view of the South China Sea, there is another option aside from those that are mentioned above, this hotel here is known as Hyatt Regency Kinabalu. The rate for the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu is considered as fair where the rate for a night stay will cost roughly about RM290. Besides all the basic facilities, the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu also offers a wide range of other facilities where some of these facilities include fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool, golf and many other outdoor activities which can be arranged upon request. In addition to that, the Hyatt Regency Hotel also offers an extensive variety of services such as business centre, babysitting, currency exchange, 24-hours doctor, photo service, laundry service, tour desk, car rental and as well as a hair salon. For dining in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, the hotel takes pride in their wide range of Restaurants ranging from restaurants serving Western to Chinese cuisines and of course, Japanese and as well as Asian cuisines.
For Nexus Resort, it can be considered as a very good holiday resorts as the resort provides everything that the guests will need during their stay in the hotel. For such a wonderful resort, the rate charged by the hotel is RM360 per night. This rate is still considered as reasonable due to the fact where this resort offers a lot of facilities and services for all the guests. Aside from the basic room facilities, the Nexus Resort also offers wide range recreational facilities such as an 18 holes golf course, spa, water sports, swimming pool, gymnasium, beach volleyball, lawn bowling, scuba diving, Mangrove River cruise and best of all, a lagoon park. Besides these facilities, the Nexus Resort also offers other services such as a business centre, internet kiosk, convenience store, souvenir shop, medical clinic, laundry service and as well as car rental service. For dining or getting a drink in the Nexus Resort, the guest can rest assured that there are various restaurants, lounge and pub at all around the Nexus Resort. There is the Penyu Coffee Shop and the Kingfisher which offers buffets everyday. Aside from that, there is also the Olives Mediterranean Restaurant which serves authentic Mediterranean cuisines and the Noble House Chinese Restaurant which serves a wide range of Cantonese cuisines. If the guests are looking for a place to enjoy a drink, there is always the Darlin' darlin' Entertainment Club for those who wish to enjoy some dance beat or live band performance and for those guests that wish to chit chat in a more relaxing environment, there is the Horizon Lobby Lounge where the guests can enjoy a cup of drink in a soothing atmosphere.
Last but not least, there is also the luxurious Tanjong Jara Resort where this resort is built on a 17-hectare site facing the South China Sea. The rate for the Tanjong Jara Resort is by far the most expensive when compared to all the above resorts or hotels, the rate for a night stay in Tanjong Jara Resort costs roughly around RM380 per night. In exchange for this rate is the soothing atmosphere of this Malay themed resort. Besides offering an extensive range of basic facilities, the Tanjong Jara Resort also offers various other facilities such as a gymnasium, beauty spa, tennis court, library, swimming pool and as well as golf. In addition to these facilities, the Tanjong Jara Resort also offers services such as local tour arrangements, laundry, baby sitting, medical and as well as postage services. For dining here at the Tanjong Jara Resort, there is the Di Atas Sungei (On top of the river) restaurant where this restaurant is virtually resting on a river and within this restaurant, a wide range of Malaysian cuisines is served. For seafood, there is the Nelayan where in this restaurant, fresh seafood is served and in addition to that, most of these fresh seafood are captured by the Nelayan’s in house fisherman.
As the Sabah state is a famous tourism spot, there are many other more resorts or hotels that are located at all around the Sabah state. All in all, the hotels or resorts that are introduced above are just a quick glimpse of what the accommodations to be expected in the Sabah state.
