Padang Besar

One of the interesting facts about this town is that, the town is basically a combination of both Thailand and Perlis. It is said in such a manner because Padang Besar itself is a border town so therefore, this means that for someone who is visiting Thailand, he will need to pass by the border separating Malaysia and Thailand at Padang Besar. Aside from that, trains departing to Thailand will also stop by at one of the towns within Padang Besar. This town here is known as Pekan Siam and in addition to that, Pekan Siam is also widely known as a bargain paradise or a flee market. On top of all these, as Padang Besar is a stopping point for people who are crossing over to Thailand or vice versa, there are many tourism related shops here in Padang Besar where some of these shops can be seen selling textiles, footwear, handicrafts, decorative items, local snacks, souvenirs and many others more.
