Natural Attractions in Negeri Sembilan


Port Dickson
Despite being the second smallest district here in Negeri Sembilan, Port Dickson still offers a wide variety of popular retreats here. Firstly, the Port Dickson beach stretches as far as 18 kilometers along the shore and due to the reason where Port Dickson is situated relatively close to Kuala Lumpur and easily accessible from Singapore, this district soon developed into an often frequented beach on the West Coast. With the overwhelming amount of visitors annually, this once quiet town soon became prosperous as more and more accommodation and food facilities are being erected. Aside from the wonderful sandy beaches of Port Dickson beach, there is another interesting retreat here in Port Dickson where this interesting destination is known as the Pasir Panjang Recreational Park. This lush green recreational park is located at a coastal village within Port Dickson. There are various amenities here in the Pasir Panjang Recreational Park where some of these include huts, walking tracks and as well as children’s playground. On top of these amenities, this recreational park is also well known for its physical training arena where there are various facilities for physical training purposes and some of these facilities include obstacle course, confidence test, abseil, kayaks, boats and as well as hostels for resting purposes. Within this recreational park, there lie many traditional herbs and plants where theses herbs and plants are widely used by many traditional medicine practitioners. In addition to all these, for those who enjoy jungle trekking, they can also visit an old tomb which is located at the peak of Bukit Kurau. Generally, the Pasir Panjang Recreational Park is a suitable destination for the whole family.

Batu Maloi Cave
For those adventurous tourists who enjoys exploring and trekking, the Batu Maloi Cave which is located around thirty five kilometers away from Kuala Pilah. Actually, the Batu Maloi Cave is located within a lush green forest where inside these forest, some of the wonderful magic of nature such as the sun shinning through the tall branches, dried leaves and flowers scattered all around the forest floor can be clearly seen. The Batu Maloi Cave was formed beneath the masses of large rocks and in addition of that, there is a crystal clear stream of water passing through the stones located at all around the floor o the cave. Exploring this cave proves to be a tough job as the internal of this cave is quite narrow and slippery. On top of that, if there is any sudden heavy rainfall, the water level inside the cave may rise rapidly causing an unnecessary panic to the inexperienced tourists. Therefore, for the inexperienced tourists, it is always advisable that they get two or three local tour guides to guide them during the exploration of this miraculous cave.

Lata Kijang
Lata Kijang here in Negeri Sembilan is yet another thrilling and exciting destination. First of all, for the tourists who wish to pay Lata Kijang a visit, they must first experience an off road journey as Lata Kijang can only be accessed via an off road four wheel drive vehicle. Actually, the journey to Lata Kijang itself is already a thrilling adventure as along the journey, the four wheel drive vehicle needs to pass through various steep, muddy road and moreover, crossing the wooden log bridge will surely gives an adrenaline rush to most of the visitors. After that, the visitors can further admire the lush green forest by continuing their journey on foot. The experiences of passing through the sunray filtered forest, the whistling birds and the sound of monkey playing around are worthwhile indeed. After trekking for about an hour, the spectacular view of the 300 feet tall water fall will surely wash away all of the tiredness during this thrilling journey. A dip in the cold refreshing water and as well as the calming sound of water flowing through various boulders will surely wash away all the exhaustions and completely refreshes the visitor.

Ulu Bendol Recreational Forest
Ulu Bendon Forest is one of the oldest jungles in the world and it is located at the southern edge of the Titiwangsa mountain range. According to research, the Ulu Bendol Recreational Forest is estimated to date back to more than 130 million years ago. Various activities can be enjoyed here in the forest where some of these outdoor activities include camping, jungle trekking, fishing and as well as swimming. For fellow mountain climbing enthusiasts, they can surely start exploring the hillside terrain around the Ulu Bendol Recreational Forest. One of the favored mountains here in the Ulu Bendol Recreational Forest is known as Mount Angsi and on top of that, it takes about four hours to conquer this 825 meter tall mountain. On top of Mount Angsi, the breath taking view overlooking the lush green forest at the foot hill is definitely worthwhile. Aside from the Mount Angsi, there is another river here known as the Batang Terachi River and in addition to that, this river is flanked by masses of boulders where all these boulders create a natural dam along the river flow. There are also chalets and A-shaped huts available here at the Ulu Bendol Recreational Park and the rate to stay in these places are priced cheaply between RM19 to RM30 per night.

Jeram Toi
Here at Jeram Toi, the captivating view of the river flowing through cascading stairs like boulders is indeed mesmerizing. During the early morning, under the hazy mist, it is most enjoyable to enjoy a dip in the cooling natural pool located inside the Jeram Toi Recreational Park. Aside from the refreshing natural pool, there is also a series of stairs connecting the peak and the foot of the mountain. The stairs shouldn’t be taken lightly as it requires a tremendous amount of stamina to climb through it. For those who are adventurous, they can abandon the stairs and use the jungle trek to go up to the peak of the mountain. For nature lovers and just like any other recreational park here in Negeri Sembilan, the Jeram Toi Recreational Park is a must visit destination.

Gunung Datuk
Aside from those recreational parks, there is another mountain standing tall here in Negeri Sembilan. The 2900 feet Gunung Datuk is a favorite amongst nature lovers and fellow adventurous tourists. Right at the foot of the mountain, there is a small but crystal clear stream flowing slowly between many boulders and the sound of the passing water is surely soothing and calming. Actually, Gunung Datuk is quite a relatively well known camping site as it is said that some of the poets or artists get their inspiration here from this lush green forest scenes. However, although the scenery of the forest around the mountain is already more than enough to capture one’s heart, the picturesque view from the peak of the mountain is in fact, more captivating than any other sceneries that are available nearby. Regardless, the local authorities here at Gunung Datuk always advise the tourists intending to climb the mountain to first report at a nearby police station as there has been cases of tourists who got lost within the mountain.
