Malacca or better known as Melaka is a state in Malaysia which is situated at the southern part of Peninsular Malaysia and right on the Straits of Malacca / Melaka. With a total population of 650000 people at the 1650 squared kilometer land area, Malacca is a state in Malaysia which is much less populated when compared to Penang. The state capital of Malacca is also similarly known as Melaka where besides the state capital, there are another 4 main administrative districts here in Malacca which are known as Alor Gajah, Jasin, Melaka Tengah and Pulau Besar. The climate here in Malacca is just identical to any other states here in Malaysia where the weather is tropical weather. However, rainfall is abundant here in Malacca and heavy downpour may occur at any time throughout the year. Even until today, the Straits of Malacca is still the longest strait in the world where it is widely used for international navigation. Indirectly or directly, the Straits of Malacca is a part of the reason which makes Malacca a famous trading port in the early days. Nowadays, Malacca is pretty much a very well developed state here in Malaysia, however, despite the various additions of buildings and other architectures, the town in Malacca still retains a great atmosphere of the early days.
