Being one of the many developing countries in South East Asia, Malaysia is slowly but steadily striving in order to reach towards its goal, which is the Year 2020 vision (Wawasan 2020). Nowadays, due to the fact where Malaysia is still on its developing stages, there are actually quite a number of job opportunities for all of the people here in Malaysia. Some of the booming job sectors in Malaysia are offering plenty of job opportunities, for example, there are job sectors like engineering, computer/information technology, sales/marketing, finance/banking and manufacturing.
The truth is, in Malaysia right now, one of the most heavily developing sectors is the manufacturing sector. In addition to two of the sectors mentioned above, another booming commercial sector is the information technology sector, or better known as the IT sector. Actually, starting in the mid 1990s, the demand for IT personnel is growing rapidly day by day due to the reason where Malaysia at that time is slowly shifting towards the digital age. Nowadays, a lot of companies in Malaysia are slowly changing to be more IT competent because only by this way can they increase their competitions. Therefore, we can see there are more and more web hosting companies, networking companies and software development companies.
With exception of the sectors mentioned above, another sector in Malaysia which is worth mentioning is the chemical industry. There are always job offers from the chemical industries because Malaysia is a country with abundant natural resources such as natural gas and oil thus, making the petrochemical processing and exporting one of the main income for Malaysia. Aside from the petrochemical, some of the chemical industries in Malaysia are offering quite a number of jobs opportunity, these industries comprises different sort of chemical related manufacturing such as pharmaceutical, various types of acids and inorganic chemicals.
Most of the time, the startup salary in Malaysia falls between RM2000 to RM 2500 depending on the category of the jobs itself. However, due to inflation in Malaysia lately, such as the rise in petrol price, various of the sectors have been affected by inflations and therefore, it is expected where there might be a pay hike anytime in the near future for the whole commercial industry in Malaysia. Aside from that, all of the people working full time in Malaysia are required to pay an income tax of 28% from their monthly salaries.
Malaysia is one of the countries in Asia which are offering quite a number of different job opportunities for all of the people. In addition to that, some people choose to work in Malaysia because compared to countries like Japan or Singapore, the pressure during work and the competition in Malaysia are comparatively lesser to the other countries mentioned above.
