Hotel Malaysia

For most of the travelers, be it local travelers or foreign travelers, Malaysia is always the perfect spot for traveling due to the fact where each of the states in Malaysia has different types of attractions. Therefore, more and more hotels are available for all of these travelers to lodge in. In general, the choices of hotels in Malaysia are very vast where there are hotels ranging from budget hotels to luxurious hotels.

Budget Hotels in Malaysia
In Malaysia, particularly Kuala Lumpur, there are increasing supply of budget hotels cater for budget travelers or backpackers. One of the notable budget hotel is Tune Hotels which room rates start from as little as MYR 8.00 per night. Just as its name suggests, the purpose of budget hotels are for daily activities such as sleeping and taking bath. Actually, nothing much is to be expected besides having these basic facilities because as we all know, the cost for staying in a budget hotel is very cheap. For those who wish to save their money on accommodation and spend it elsewhere, budget hotel is always the right choice for them. However, they must first take note where normally for budget hotel, there are no recreation facilities like gym or swimming pool. In most of the time, unlike the trend of B and B (Bed and Breakfast) accommodation in the Europe, the budget hotels do not provide any sort of breakfast for their customers. Without any regards to this fact, budget hotel is often a very good choice for travelers who spend most of their time outside exploring around.

In contrary to the budget hotel, most of the hotels that can be found are common hotels rated from 3 stars to 5 stars. Normally, the cost for lodging in these common hotels will be slightly more expensive compared to the budget hotels. However, in return of paying more for the lodging fee, the customer can expect to get a few extra facilities from the hotels, such as a swimming pool, laundry, bar and a restaurant.

Besides budget hotel and common hotel, another type of hotel which is available in Malaysia is the luxurious hotel. For this type of hotel, the customer is expected to pay more due to the fact where this type of hotel is meant for luxurious traveling. For starters, the customers can expect to have all the basic facilities such as laundry, bar, swimming pool and restaurant. On top of that, the room in a luxurious hotel will be larger and much more elegant (furniture and decoration) compared to the previous 2 hotels. Besides that, there are actually some other additional facilities in these hotels, such as jacuzzi, sauna room, gym, tennis court and other recreation facilities, all for the enjoyment of the customer.

Malaysia is actually striving to be known globally and therefore, the traveler can expect that most of these hotels will have very good service towards their customers. Although Malaysia is a developing country, a traveler should still always take note and avoid some of these behaviors in hotels because after all, Malaysia is still an Islamic country. First of all, even if it is in the hotel perimeter, a female traveler should avoid wearing any sexually appealing dress when wandering around the hotel perimeter. In addition to that, being topless (for female) in the swimming pool is also considered as offensive in Malaysia. Besides that, female travelers should avoid dressing in a sexy manner when hanging out in the hotel bar. The reason behind this is because, it has been reported where sometimes, a female foreigner will get too much unwanted attention from local citizens due to misconceptions the local people have towards foreigners. For the case of tipping, unlike in western countries, tipping is not necessary in any Malaysia hotels because a 5% government tax and a 10% service charge are already billed to the customer.

Actually, before traveling to any foreign country for holidays, one should always prepare earlier and try to understand that country’s local norm and culture. This is because sometimes, we may do offend people without realizing it ourselves.
