For being one of the second poorest states in Malaysia, the main economic income of the Kelantan state is based on agrarian. Therefore because of this reason, there is not much focus on the tourism industries in Kelantan and because of this reason; there are very large scale or lavish hotels here in Kelantan due to the reason where not much companies would be interested to invest in Kelantan. However, despite this reason, there are still some popular hotels here in Kelantan where some of these hotels include Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotel, Perdana Hotel, Grand Riverview Hotel and as well as the down to earth Perdana Resort.

Firstly, the Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotel is located at a central location where all of the main districts such as shopping, entertainment and business are easily accessible. The rate for the Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotel is roughly RM220 where this rate is considerably one of the most expensive rates when compared to the rest of the three hotels or resorts. The Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotel offers a series of basic facilities with an additional of other facilities such as aerobic classes, cycling, gymnasium, sauna, swimming pool and as well as tennis court. On top of these recreational facilities, the Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotel also offers a wide range of business facilities such as a grand ballroom, business centre, executive floor and not to forget, various meeting facilities. As for dining, the hotel also offers international restaurants serving various local and international cuisines. In addition to the restaurants, there is also a lounge inside the hotel where the guest in the hotel can sit down and enjoy a cup of drink.

After the Renaissance Kota Bahru the second most expensive hotel is known as the Perdana Hotel. For the location of the Perdana Hotel, it is strategically located at the center of the town where the Hotel Perdana is just next to the State Cultural Center and the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium and moreoever, the town center is just 5 minutes walk away. In addition to this strategic location, the Perdana Hotel is also relatively close to the Thailand border where it is just 45 minutes drive away. The rate for the Perdana Hotel falls between RM170 to RM250 depending on various season and peak months. The facilities here in the Perdana Hotel are similar to those in the Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotel where there are various recreational facilities such as bowling, badminton, massage, gymnasium, cycling, sauna and as well as swimming pool. In addition to these recreational facilities, the Perdana Hotel also offers other services and business facilities such as medical facilities, child care facilities, vehicle hire, ballroom, convention center, meeting facilities and as well as an exhibition hall. On top of all these, the Perdana Hotel also has two restaurants and a coffee house which are known as Poolside Terrace, Chinese Golden Jade Seafood Restaurant and the Cerana Coffee House.

Aside from the Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotel and the Perdana Hotel, the third most expensive hotel within these four hotels is none other than the Grand Riverview Hotel. First of all, the Grand Riverview Hotel is located at the Kelantan riverfront where the guests at the hotel and definitely enjoy a picturesque scenery there. In addition to that, the location of the hotel is also conveniently situated nearby to the central giving an easy access to all the financial centers, offices, cultural attractions and as well as shopping areas. The rate for the Grand Riverview Hotel is less expensive than the Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotel and it falls in between RM160 to RM200 depending on the types of the room. Although the facilities are comparatively lesser than the Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotels, the Grand Riverview Hotel still offers a few types of recreational facilities such as gymnasium, swimming pool and as well as sauna. Besides these recreational facilities, the Grand Riverview Hotel also offers the same kind of business facilities as the Renaissance Kota Bahru Hotel. For dining, the Grand Riverview Hotel has three different restaurants to dine it at where these restaurants include Greens Restaurant, Green Chevronee and Seasons Restaurant. Aside from these restaurants, the Grand Riverview Hotel also has a lounge known as the Element Lounge.

Lastly, the fourth hotel is known as the Perdana Resort where the Perdana Resort is remotely nestled at the far north-eastern corner of the Peninsular overlooking the South China Sea on a beautiful beach known as the “Moonlight Beach”. The rate of this hotel is cheaper compared to the rest of the 3 hotels where it cost RM135 per night. Although cheaper, the Perdana Resort offers far more recreational facilities such as a mini golf course, horse riding, video games room, snooker room, badminton, sauna, bowling and as well as cycling. Most of the services, facilities and even the dining places in the Perdana Resort are similar to those in the Perdana Hotels.

Aside from these four hotels, there are actually other smaller size hotels or backpackers dormitories in the Kelantan state. However, besides these four hotels or resorts, there are not much lavish hotels or resorts anymore in the Kelantan state.
