Cherating Beach

Cherating is located at around 50 kilometer from the north of Kuantan. With the sloping white sandy beaches and soothing sea breeze, Cherating is often regarded as one of the best beaches here in the Pahang state. On top of that, Cherating beach is the first destination in the Asia region where Club Mediterranean opened its first business venture. In the earlier days of the Cherating beach, it was a beachside that was first popularized by backpackers all around the world. Nowadays, Cherating Beach is also very popular with other visitors and not just the backpackers alone. One of the famous souvenirs here in Cherating is none other than the self made batiks and batik paintings. In addition to the wonderful souvenirs, the visitors here in Cherating also get to see the cultural shows such as wayang kulit (a play using shadow and reflections) and silat (a form of Malay self defense).
